I Support the Girls interacts with many people who don’t have access to even the most basic health necessities. Pads, tampons, and a properly fitting bra are hard to come by. Something like mascara is considered a luxury. Thanks to Thrive Causemetics, ISTG made some of the folks we serve feel extra special. Thrive Causemetics donated over 189,000 of their award winning mascaras to eighteen ISTG Affiliates across the U.S., from Hawaii to Delaware. These went to veterans, homeless women, and survivors of domestic violence through our D.A.S.H. Kit Program, which provides essential items to folks who have fled a domestic violence situation.

Small Items Making a Big Difference

The women and folks ISTG serve often get emotional when receiving something as simple as a new bra or maxipads. When they’re given something extra special like new mascara, it makes them feel even more beautiful and worthy.

“We were able to give out over 12,000 period packs, bras and mascaras. Many of the girls cried because they were getting items so very personal to them,” Debi Olson, Affiliate Director in Southwest Missouri, said. Debi donated mascaras to the organization Foster Adopt Connect, which serves young teens in need.

This generous gift from Thrive Causemetics was one of over 80 amazing donations from our corporate partners in the last year. It is our partners’ wonderful generosity that enables us to share the love with so many different types of products. They help us restore dignity to even more people across the globe.

Iowa Affiliate Director, Becky Harding, donated mascara to Youth Central Care in North Central Iowa, an emergency shelter for youth up to age eighteen.

“All of the girls loved the mascara! They made comments that it made their lashes look so beautiful with barely having put any on,” a staff member at Youth Central Care of North Central Iowa said. “Another teen commented that they make her lashes look fuller. Thank you for making our girls feel so special!”
