Dallas/Fort Worth

About

Graciela was born in Veracruz, Mexico and grew up there. After visiting her mom’s extensive family here, she fell in love with Texas, moving to the Dallas area in 1999. Graciela became an energy auditor and inspector, and after much hard work, was able to start her own company which provides energy efficiency improvements to low-income families at no cost to them.

In 2016, realizing she could do more, she joined the ISTG family, becoming the affiliate director of I Support the Girls Dallas/Fort Worth. Graciela found love in 2018 and less than two years later married her soulmate and became Mrs. Brewer.

I Support the Girls is a global non-profit organization that collects and distributes essential items, including bras, underwear, and menstrual hygiene products, allowing folks experiencing homelessness, impoverishment, or distress to stand tall with dignity. In addition, our local affiliate, Graciela, goes into area middle and high schools to discuss hygiene and self-care with teen girls.

There are 56 affiliates across the United States and globally. Each affiliate is responsible for learning about the local needs and meeting and vetting potential organizational partners, such as our own Social Action Committee through Congregation Shearith Israel.
