Deana Pittman has been the Affiliate Director of ISTG – Mississippi since 2018. Since starting ISTG – Mississippi, they have donated over 500,000 essential items to people in need all across the state. We checked in with Deana to highlight her incredible work in her community.

How did you get involved with ISTG?

“I got involved with ISTG through my involvement with an international civic organization, General Federation of Women’s Clubs.  Our state president at the time, Becky C. Wright, was searching out ways our clubs could help with Domestic Violence Survivors and found I Support the Girls….she asked if I would contact Rachael and see what we had to do…and the rest is history!  With a small box of starter bras from Rachael and bras from women all over the state….to a huge donation from LOLA, ISTG-Mississippi was born!”

What is your proudest moment during your time as an Affiliate?

Notable moments/proudest moment….for me, just making the connections and knowing we are making a difference for 1.  We may not have the huge numbers that other affiliates have, and we haven’t received any accolades or awards, but we know for each person we help, we make a difference for that one. I absolutely love hearing from a woman, ‘That was the first real bra I have ever had!'”
