Tampa Bay
About
The Tampa Bay affiliation was started in 2019 and serves Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties. To date we have donated 437,666 menstrual hygiene products, 29,844 bras, and 17,767 pairs of underwear to 236 unique social service organizations in the Tampa Bay area benefitting women and girls in need. These organizations include schools, group homes, domestic violence shelters, homeless shelters, safe houses for runaway teens, migrant workers, victims of Hurricane Ian and Hurricane Idalia, to name a few.
LOCAL IMPACT
""Thank you so much for the bras, undergarments, and supplies you sent to River Ridge for one of my needy students! She was sooo happy when I gave her the box! She immediately changed her clothes and said "WOW this feels so much better!". After her discharge and recent change in medication causing weight gain, my student was wearing a bra that was waaaay too small. Her comfort has increased in school and therefore she is more engaged in her academics!"
"Wow, what an incredible service you provide in our community! The supply of bras, underwear, menstrual hygiene items, cosmetics and toiletries that you brought to our administrative offices is incredible. These items will go a long way toward helping the women we serve to regain their self-esteem and empower them to move forward in their lives."
"Your goal to meet the basic and unique needs of females is admirable and on behalf of all of the vulnerable individuals we serve, but especially the women, i thank you for being part of the answer to helping restore the lives of vulnerable women in our community."
"I enjoy being a "girl" - we all are enjoying this feeling of warm and comfy! Thanks so very much for caring about us, and blessing us with beautiful bras and other goodies!"
"I thank you so much for the work you do with I Support the Girls. Your donation of feminine products will go to the migrant community in "ditty bags" assembled by the United Methodist Women. We appreciate you!"
"I have been mentoring a young single mom for three years. The one thing she asked for herself for Christmas was personal hygiene items - the one thing we so often take for granted. I Support The Girls came through and not only did they gift her with personal hygiene items, but also with new bras, underwear, camisoles, and leggings. Thank you again for supporting the young women in our community."
"We can't express our immense gratitude and appreciation. All of our girls loved this activity so much - I truly believe it is because of how calm, sensitive, and compassionate you were with our girls in teaching them how to be correctly fitted for a bra. Please know that the act itself may have seemed small to you, but was truly impactful. Every one of our girls left with a smile on their faces and a renewed confidence."
"Thank you so much for your continued support of our Treasure Chest. As a Title 1 school with approximately 900 students, 85% of whom receive free/reduced lunch, we rely on community donations such as yours to stock our Treasure Chest. The donations of bras, underwear, and hygiene items will definitely go to good use here!"
"Thank you so much for your donation of bras, panties, and feminine hygiene items! We could not do the work we do without generous donors like you!"
